DemeDIOX BARBED

Polydioxanone Barbed (PXB) — Absorbable Knotless Surgical Suture

Suture Material

What is Polydioxanone Barbed (PXB)?

DemeDIOX BARBED™ sutures are sterile, uncoated, synthetic, absorbable wound closure devices that provide a knotless solution for surgical procedures. Made entirely of poly(p-dioxanone) and dyed violet, they consist of a monofilament strand with unidirectional or bidirectional barbs.

The barbed design eliminates the need for knot tying, allowing for tissue approximation without the use of surgical knots. Barbs along the strand engage tissue as the suture is advanced, distributing tension evenly across the wound and securing the closure without requiring a tied knot.

Indicated for use in soft tissue approximation where use of absorbable sutures is appropriate. Available in USP sizes 5-0 to 2. Sterilized by ethylene oxide.
